Flash websites are ruining marketing campaigns for many

This week Dual Media are urging their business customers and anyone with a website to watch out for websites built with flash. As SEO is becoming a much more popular technique to use for search engine marketing Dual Media have had to break some bad news to business owners that already have an established website built on Flash.
This revelation has come to a head this week as yet again Google shifted their goalposts, viewing many sites as spam making them fall to the bottom of search results. This has prompted business owners to employ professional SEO experts and Web Designers instead of doing the job themselves as only experts can keep their finger on the pulse of the rapid changes in Search Engine Marketing today. However, although Dual Media have doubled their client base, half of those need more than a tweak as Flash is now considered to be outdated and prehistoric by Google.
Dual Media are not just a Web Design Company as they also increase sales and conversions through search engine marketing propelling many to the first pages of Google, however when a business already has a website that is Flash based this task can be impossible.
Flash websites are used by many business owners that want to take control of their own design and layout, usually choosing a site maker or template they don’t realise that it is not user or commercial friendly until it is too late. Unfortunately Google views a flash website as a series of images and so regardless of the amount of keywords and meta tags inserted it will not be able to compete with other businesses in the same genre on the search engines.
There are also other disadvantages to using Flash as a base for a website, as not only will it scupper any chances of climbing to the top of Google it will also frustrate modern consumers. From a PC it will take a long time to load whereas it will also be unreadable when viewed from an iPhone or tablet device.
This news is confusing many website owners as they have believed they were saving money by using a template and designing their website themselves, yet although they may be saving money in the short term, by choosing this method they are stopping their chances of using SEO or even PPC in their marketing campaigns.
