Drive Away The Cold Program Delivers New Winter Coats Just In Time for 1,000 Needy Kids at Cityteam Chester

This Friday (10/12), The Drive Away The Cold program will deliver 1,000 new winter coats to Cityteam Chester for kids in the greater Delaware Valley. These new winter coats are made possible through The Philadelphia Area Auto Dealer CARing for Kids Foundation (http://www.caringforkids.com) with local partners David Dodge, Stillman Volvo and Robert Miller Dodge.

“It’s getting cold here in Philadelphia and many kids don’t have coats to keep them warm. Perhaps not surprisingly, given the severity of the economic downturn, the share of single mothers living in poverty with their children has risen this year to 47 percent according to The Pew Charitable Trust. We at Cityteam see it first hand how mothers come seeking help and hope during these difficult times,” said Wanda Dixon, Cityteam. “These new coats will be a blessing to these mothers who are struggling to meet the daily needs of their children,” added Mrs. Dixon.
