The Top of the Tower Restaurant in Manhattan announces new executive chef, James Brett Buehler

New York (October 10, 2012) – The menu at the top is about to get a fresh infusion of flavor, courtesy of the Beekman Tower Hotel and its newest Executive Chef, James Brett Buehler. The Manhattan hotel is proud to welcome Buehler as its kitchen leader at the Top of Tower Restaurant.

With over 15 years of experience in the industry, Buehler has built a successful career as Executive Chef in some of Colorado’s finest establishments. Trained at The Culinary Institute of America in New York, he started as a sous chef at the five-star, five-diamond Broadmore Resort in Colorado Springs. From there, he progressed to his first Executive Chef position with the Compass Group at Johnson Wales University in Denver, running four campus operations that included all catering, special events and banquets.

This talent for multitasking and for managing the complete dining experience for multiple clientele at once has served Buehler well over the years. As he has honed his craft, he has served as Executive Chef in several key restaurants throughout the state of Colorado, most recently as Executive Chef over both Del Frisco’s and Sullivan’s fine restaurants in Denver.

Chef Buehler plans to bring his in-depth knowledge and passion for the culinary arts to New York by honoring the guest palate with his unique, progressive style of American cuisine. At the Top of Tower, he intends to fuse the classic American menu with French technique and Asian flare.

About the Top of the Tower

The Top of the Tower restaurant, located on the 26th floor of the Beekman Tower Hotel, is known for offering diners classic Contemporary American fare made from the freshest locally-sourced ingredients. Recently named one of the city’s top ten locations for a romantic date, the Top of the Tower boasts panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline, including nearby attractions like the United Nations building, Central Park, the Empire State Building and Times Square. Convenient to shopping and art as well, the Top of the Tower affords a great opportunity for visitors and native New Yorkers alike to enjoy a view of the city.

The Top of the Tower restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner daily; breakfast is served from 7:00 to 11:00 am Monday through Friday and 8:00 am to noon on weekends, while dinner hours are 5:30 to 11:00 pm Monday through Saturday and 5:30 to 10:00 pm on Sundays. Guests may choose from a variety of small plates or a full-sized dinner. The bar is open for cocktails from 5:00 pm to 1:00 am during the week and closes one hour later on Fridays and Saturdays.
