DeKalb, IL (PRWEB) October 14, 2012
In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb and Valley West Hospital in Sandwich, both part of KishHealth System, are donating to the American Cancer Society through a promotion on their Facebook pages throughout the month of October. For every post on each hospital Facebook page, each hospital will donate $1, up to $250 each, to the Kish Hospital and Valley West Relay For Life teams. All money raised by the teams from now through June 2013 will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
“Cancer has touched practically everyone in one form or another. Everyone has a family member or friend affected by cancer. This promotion throughout October is an easy and safe way for people to share their stories with each other, and know that they’re not alone,” said Debra Bemis, MSN, KishHealth System, director, oncology services. “And it helps raise money for the American Cancer Society as well.”
Those who “Like” the Kish Hospital or Valley West Facebook pages are encouraged to share stories on the wall including the impact cancer has had on your life or the life of a loved one; stories from patients; or what you learned at one of the hospital One Life events throughout the summer.
Kishwaukee and Valley West Community Hospitals both have Cancer Centers on campus. For more information about the health system cancer services available, please visit kishcancer.org or valleywest.org/cancer.
