The Street Toyota Scion Cooking Team participated in the Canyon Chamber of Commerce Annual BBQ Cook-Off on Thursday, October 11, 2012. The team won first place for their beef tenderloin and second place for their ribs.
“We are excited to have won another award this year for our cooking,” Frank Welling, Street Toyota Scion Parts Manager said. “Our long and hard work paid off with the two awards we received.”
The Street Toyota Scion Team prepared and served ribs, beef tenderloin and brisket sandwiches Thursday morning.
“We are all really proud of the team and for all of their success,” Mike Good, Street Toyota Scion General Manager said. “The team did a great job on Thursday in Canyon. They keep getting better.”
The Street Toyota Scion Cooking Team recently participated in the 17th Annual Good Times Celebration Barbecue Cook-Off hosted by the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce in September where they won second place for their Beef Tenderloin.
The team this year consisted of Service Manager, Micah Barfield, Parts Manager, Frank Welling, Service Adviser Josh Welch, Sales Professional, Marshall Newkirk, Social Media Director, David Meraz and Charlie Rittenberry.
“We had a lot of fun Thursday,” Josh Welch, Street Toyota Scion Service Advisor said. “We spent a lot of time preparing for the event, cooking the food, serving the food and cleaning up, but it was definitely worth it because we took home two awards.”
