The National Capital Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), one of the association’s largest local chapters and a leading authority on corporate growth in the mid-Atlantic region, will host Charles E. Allen as their featured speaker at the upcoming October Monthly Meeting.
Mr. Allen will discuss the current state of the defense and intelligence industries, and where future business opportunities lie for companies that work with these communities. Mr. Allen will also discuss how impending spending cuts and sequestration could impact the industry and the key technologies and products that will continue to see government investment, despite budget pressures.
“We are extremely excited to have Charles Allen addressing national security and intelligence issues critical to this region,” said Ronald Morgan, the current president of ACG National Capital and president of commercial services at MorganFranklin. “Given his extensive knowledge and experience, Mr. Allen will be able to help ACG members identify opportunities in the intelligence community, which will directly impact businesses and offer insights on how to best focus resources on future business opportunities.”
Mr. Allen is a Principal at the Chertoff Group, a global security advisory firm. Prior to joining the Chertoff Group, Mr. Allen was the Under Secretary for Intelligence Analysis at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), where he was responsible for the development of the department’s intelligence architecture and activities. His tenure at DHS was preceded by a forty year career at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
This addition of Mr. Allen to the October Monthly Meeting illustrates ACG’s commitment to helping companies grow and acquire the essential tools to develop greater corporate value. Mr. Allen’s extensive experience and knowledge of the defense and intelligence communities make him uniquely qualified to share the important trends impacting these markets, and an invaluable resource for the local businesses that serve them.
