On October 16th 2012, online marketing company fishbat, Inc. launched a new video press release highlighting Facebook’s new digital gift-giving service and the implications of the service on Facebook as a social media platform.
In the latest edition of fishbat Inc.’s video press release series ‘fishbat Splash’, host and fishbat COO Scott Darrohn spoke about the recently unveiled Facebook gift-giving service. Darrohn states in the video that Facebook’s new gift-giving services go hand in hand with Facebook apps which send birthday greetings and invitations for special events.
Darrohn comments that the only real down side to the new Facebook service is that the items eligible for gift-giving are relatively expensive and impractical. “The average price gift is around thirty dollars. What they really should be doing is selling cheaper items,” says Scott Darrohn. “About eighty percent of my friends are probably people I haven’t spoken with in at least ten years so there’s no way I’m going to spend thirty dollars on somebody that I used to throw dirt-bombs with in fifth grade.”
Darrohn states in the video that this service could prove useful for both Facebook and its users if utilized properly and efficiently. “What would also be cool is if with this new gift tool, you had the ability to deliver music. I could pick out a song for somebody who I hold dear to my heart and send it to them for maybe a dollar or two.” Darrohn jokingly says afterward that the first person he would purchase a song for using this new service would be Mark Zuckerberg.
fishbat, Inc. is a full service online marketing firm. Through reputation management, search engine optimization (SEO), web design and public relations, fishbat strives as a marketing agency to raise awareness regarding your brand and improve your corporate image.
