Founder and Principal-in-Charge of Women’s LIFE Initiative Lauded as “Changemaker”

Rothstein Kass (http://www.rkco.com), a leading national professional services provider, today announced that one of its principals, Rosalie Mandel, has been named “Working Mother of the Year” by Working Mother magazine. Mandel, Principal-in-Charge of Rothstein Kass’ LIFE Program, was recognized as a “Changemaker” for the family-friendly and working parent initiatives she has driven throughout her 20-plus year career at the firm. Among other initiatives, Mandel founded LIFE, the firm’s women’s initiative, which is dedicated to helping women reach their full potential by fostering leadership opportunities, creating new business development platforms and facilitating mentoring relationships.

As a direct result of Mandel’s involvement in the LIFE program, Rothstein Kass has been recognized as one of the “2012 100 Best Companies” by Working Mother magazine, as well as one of “The Ten Best Accounting Firms for Women” by The Accounting MOVE Project. The firm also received the “2009 National Women’s Initiative of the Year” award from Garden State Woman Magazine. Additionally, Mandel developed “The Working Mother’s Networking Group,” which gives working mothers tools and tips for balancing professional and home responsibilities and an outlet to interact with similar employees. At monthly roundtables designed to foster collaboration and firm-wide support, professional parenting consultants and Rothstein Kass employees discuss family issues, share experiences and successes and learn best practices.

“We couldn’t be more proud of what Rosalie has accomplished throughout her years with us, and we’re thrilled she’s being recognized for her dedication to supporting women in the workplace,” said Steven Kass, Co-CEO and Co-Managing Principal of Rothstein Kass. “In addition to the many commitments she has taken on in her role as principal, Rosalie has taken it upon herself to create initiatives specifically geared to engaging working mothers and programs to further the professional development of all employees. I can’t think of someone who deserves this award more.”

In addition to her commitment to engaging working mothers, Mandel was applauded by Working Mother for taking an active role in Rothstein Kass University, a program created to help employees actualize their full potential. Mandel also spearheads “The Leadership Circle,” the firm’s initiative for furthering the development of female principals, senior managers and managers.

Mandel is one of 100 working mothers nationwide to be honored with the award, which recognizes one outstanding mother from each company included on Working Mother magazine’s “2012 Working Mother 100 Best Companies” list. Along with the other winners, Mandel was recognized for her contributions at the publication’s annual Work Life Congress, held October 8-10 in New York City.
