San Diego, CA (PRWEB) October 16, 2012
Cirrascale Corporation®, a premier developer of build-to-order, independent blade-based computing and storage data center infrastructure for conventional and modular data centers, today announced the Cirrascale Modular Blade Chassis™ (“MBC”) platform. The Cirrascale MBC platform is an innovative, rack mountable adaptation of the company’s award-winning BladeRack® 2 X-Series platforms that utilize Vertical Cooling Technology™ to provide increased flexibility, scalability and versatility while providing the same level of reliability as its flagship blade server platforms.
“We’re extremely pleased to announce our Modular Blade Chassis platform. It’s definitely the end result of multiple conversations we had with certain customers in determining their greatest needs in their data centers,” said David Driggers, CEO, Cirrascale Corporation. “We realized that some of our customers and partners wanted our rack technology in a reduced form factor. We weren’t going to proceed until we were certain we could provide the same level of flexibility and scalability as our other blade server platforms. Now, with the modular blade chassis, we’re confident we’ve accomplished that.”
The new rack-optimized MBC platform utilizes an identical blade form factor as those used in Cirrascale’s BladeRack 2 X-Series platforms, giving customers the ability to use the same blades within multiple platforms. Each chassis is equipped to handle up to nine open-architecture blades for compute, storage, high-performance workstations, or intense GP/GPU applications.
CiiNow, Inc. is one of the customers helping drive the development of Cirrascale’s MBC platform. CiiNOW is a technology provider enabling service providers to tap into the lucrative gaming market as it transitions from physical media to pure digital distribution. The company is utilizing Cirrascale’s MBC platform to demonstrate the versatility of its software by being able to install it on nearly any open architecture platform.
“Flexible, performance-based infrastructure is critical to delivering a turnkey Cloud Gaming platform,” said Ron Haberman, CEO, CiiNOW, Inc. “We collaborated with Cirrascale to architect a solution that will deliver up to eight high-definition streams per blade, which provides both high density and granularity in the most efficient manner. The new MBC platform is a great choice for CiiNOW’s customers to build a scalable and easily deployable solution for a highly performant Cloud Gaming solution.”
The Cirrascale Modular Blade Chassis platform is immediately available and is currently shipping with a variety of built-to-order compute, storage, high-performance workstation, or GP/GPU blades.
