PhysioLab Modeler 12.9 for Physiological Mechanistic Modeling will be Available to Eligible Teachers and Students at No Cost

Entelos, a premier provider of in silico modeling and simulation products and consulting services, today announced the release of PhysioLab Modeler 12.9 and introduced a new academic licensing program. The PhysioLab Modeler is the software engine behind Entelos’ PhysioLab® in silico models of human and animal disease pathology.

The PhysioLab Modeler 12.9 release includes enhanced security and functionality as well as critical features such as user-friendly dynamic simulations and appealing visualizations of effect diagrams. Model outputs can be easily captured in Microsoft Excel. PhysioLab Modeler is appropriate for life scientists with interests from physiological pathways to environment or population models.

Entelos is also introducing an Academic License to support systems biology teaching and research in universities around the world. As part of the program, eligible teachers and students at participating institutions can receive licenses of the PhysioLab Modeler 12.9 software at no cost. Detailed support materials will accompany the license. Further information is available at http://www.entelos.com.

"Entelos Modeler is the core of an advanced software system specifically designed for large, whole body physiological models needed to accelerate timelines and reduce failure rates in pharma and biotech R&D," said Shawn O’Connor, President and CEO of Entelos. "We anticipate that systems biology, pharmacy, and biochemistry candidates will find this an invaluable tool. Our large, sophisticated models cover enough of the body’s interconnected physiology that they can simultaneously assess efficacy of diabetes treatments and cardiac event risk. They can also illuminate translational efficacy issues, focus early clinical research, and can suggest new biomarker and biosignature patterns. As the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries face increasing pressure, the benefits of training more scientists in academic institutions in these critical methodologies is more important than ever. We believe our academic licensing program can drive academic innovation and expand the base of systems biology expertise available to industry."
