The James Bond franchise celebrates fifty years of films this year and has celebrated with auctions, exhibitions and even dedicated TV channels. The long awaited twenty-third Bond film, Skyfall, sees its release on October 26 and has already received rave reviews. The film is Daniel Craig’s third, and has had spy fans excited for months.
Fifty years ago, Dr No marked the first Bond release and launched a franchise based on Ian Fleming’s beloved books. Twenty-three films later, the film releases and accompanying songs are still major events and strongly anticipated throughout their production.
For many, the job title of private detective conjures up images of James Bond on undercover missions and high action drama. The franchise has launched generations of wannabe private detectives and Private Investigator Birmingham report interest in their industry is inspired somewhat by Bond.
A spokesperson from Birmingham Private Detectives said:
“We’re very excited about the release of Skyfall and have loved this year’s Bond celebrations. Our industry often conjures up images of James Bond missions, but in reality we obviously can’t quite do what he does. I think it’s fair to say the franchise has inspired many people to join the industry over the years and has made more people aware of our services.”
