Physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist Dr. Jonathan Pedrick has joined OhioHealth’s medical team to see new patients with neurologic and musculoskeletal ailments.

Dr. Pedrick will see patients at two locations, in downtown Columbus and in Westerville. He is highly trained in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of conditions involving numbness, tingling or pain in joints and muscles, as well as spine and nerve damage. Many of the patients he sees have been to a number of doctors, with no clear answers on the causes of their symptoms, Pedrick said.

“What I see are the patients that have pain and a complex array of symptoms that don’t really make sense together,” he said. “My job is to sort out all these different issues, and determine if they’re related or not.”

Dr. Pedrick attended Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and completed a medical internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital, then his residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. While in residency, he suffered a serious injury that he said allows him to better understand and treat his patients.

“I had a pretty severe lower back injury when I was in residency, and it took me a year to get back to normal things,” he said. “Now I’m back to playing basketball and normal activities, and I can tell patients my story and give them extra hope and support in their situations.”

Dr. Pedrick will practice as part of Physical Medicine Associates, Inc., and offer prompt appointments by referral only. He participates in the Spine Care Program at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, which offers a best practice, outcome-driven approach to comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for patients with back and spine disorders.
