Vascular Pathways, Inc., a privately held medical device manufacturer with a revolutionary product for peripheral intravenous access, today announced that the company has appointed Gina Gilbert, BSN, RN as Vice-President Clinical Affairs. Vascular Pathways recently completed a $13.5 million financing from leading venture capital firms CHL Medical Partners, Ascension Health Ventures, MVM Life Sciences, and Arcus Ventures.

Gina Gilbert has over 15 years of experience in the medical device industry bringing a wealth of clinical expertise to the executive team. Most recently Gina Gilbert was the Sr. Director, Clinical Training & Education for Bard Medical, C.R. Bard, Inc. leading the clinical organization for Bard’s catheter stabilization, urological and fecal incontinence product lines. She also played a key role in the initial integration of Bard’s recent $250 million acquisition of Medivance, Inc. Arctic Sun® therapeutic hypothermia device. Gina joined Bard from their acquisition of Venetec International, a venture capital backed manufacturer of the StatLock® IV securement device, which was successfully sold to C.R. Bard in 2006 for $168 million. There she served as Sr. Director, Clinical Resources from 2001-2006 building the clinical organization, conducting over 150 hospital trials creating a standard of care for catheter stabilization. Before joining Venetec, she was a Regional Business Manager/Sr. Manager Training & Education for Cygnus, Inc. makers of the Glucowatch Biographer, later sold to Animas Corp; National Clinical Operations Manager/Regional Account Manager, Managed Care for Disetronic Medical Systems, Inc. insulin pump manufacturer later acquired by Roche Diagnostics; Director Diabetes Disease Management, Coram Prescription Services mail order pharmacy/PBM, division of Coram Healthcare Corporation later established as CuraScript and acquired by Express Scripts; and Director Clinical Services, Diabetes Product Line, corporate Columbia/HCA. She also brings several years of clinical experience in a variety of patient care, clinical education, research and management positions.
