SOLiD will discuss best practices for deploying a DAS at mass transit subway projects

Roseburg, OR (PRWEB) October 18, 2012

SOLiD is sponsoring the Mass Transit session during the inaugural In-Building Wireless Workshop on October 25 in New York City. The panel, which features the key stakeholders involved in a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) deployment including the wireless operator, integrator and manufacturer, will examine projects currently underway in the Northeast designed to enable subway riders to use mobile devices in underground stations, mezzanines and corridors. SOLiD, which was selected by Transit Wireless to support a DAS to provide wireless coverage and capacity throughout the New York City Subway System, will discuss the multi-year project that includes 277 stations within the largest rapid transit rail system in the U.S.

The In-Building Wireless Workshop connects wireless industry thought leaders with urban architects, LEED APs, engineers, public safety officials, builders, health care technology officers, university information officials, city officials, commercial real estate owners or managers, and telecommunication professionals to discuss and identify best practices for deploying DAS, Small Cell and WiFi solutions at hospitals, mass transit, commercial real estate, public-safety and stadiums.

“DAS networks enable anytime, anywhere coverage and capacity so that workers can be productive, friends and family can stay connected, and public-safety personnel can communicate during an emergency,” said Seth Buechley, President of SOLiD. “New York is an appropriate backdrop to share the details and lessons learned from the New York City Subway project which is one of the most expansive DAS deployments in the world. We look forward to engaging with attendees during this focused and well-organized event.”

The Mass Transit panel starts at 4:45 pm and includes presenters from AT&T and InSite Wireless. A networking reception follows directly after the session. Learn more or register at the event website: http://www.northeastdas.com/nyc/.
