Following a recent article from on the prevention of SIDS using organic bedding, baby furniture company Argington releases a response.

On October 23rd, 2012, baby furniture manufacturer and distributor Argington, comments on an article discussing the utilization of organic bedding in the prevention of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), a condition that claims the lives of many babies.

According to, the utilization of an organic crib and bedding reduces the chances of exposing an infant to chemicals, pesticide residues, unnatural toxins and artificial breeding environments for allergens and minute pests. Among many other theories, infant exposure to such materials is considered a possible cause of SIDS. The article discusses alternative methods to reduce the chance of SIDS, such as not smoking, having the infant sleep in the same room as the parents for the first several months, and avoid overheating the infant.

Argington, an advocate of organic manufactured infant cribs and bedding, releases a statement praising the article. “An infant’s life is one of the most precious things in the world,” Argington representative Clay Darrohn states. “We must take every precaution to ensure their safety. Using organic made furniture and bedding sharply reduces exposure to dangerous toxins and hopefully decreases the chances of a tragic fate such as SIDS.”

Argington is a New York based manufacturer of fine baby furniture and nursery bedding. Proudly offering sustainable products that are organic or eco-friendly, Argington’s products are also designed with mobility or multiple uses in mind to make parents’ lives easier.
