James Kelly is pleased to present the exhibit 'I’ve lost Control Again' new sculpture by Aldo Chaparro. This will be Aldo Chaparro’s first exhibition after joining the gallery in 2012. I’ve lost Control Again: New Sculpture by Aldo Chaparro will open with a reception for the artist on Friday, October 19, 2012, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The exhibition will continue through December 8, 2012. This exhibition is featured on SantaFe.com’s event calendar.

Mr. Chaparro’s artistic work is centered in sculpture. He is known for expanding the boundaries that separate art from other disciplines, making this frontier his central theme. Through different media, Chaparro remixes and edits references from the world of media pushing aside the notions of past and future to offer a present where simultaneousness and entertainment rule.

Aldo Chaparro was born in Lima, Peru in 1965, and currently lives in Mexico City, Mexico. James Kelly Contemporary, Santa Fe, and Galeria OMR, Mexico City represent him. Chaparro has shown extensively including solo shows in Costa Rica, Monterrey, Bogota, New York, London, Lima, and Buenos Aires.

In addition to his artistic practice, Chaparro is also the publisher of Celeste Magazine and editorial director of Celeste Editorial Group, one of the most influential contemporary culture publishers in Latin America.
