Gold Coast, Australia (PRWEB) October 19, 2012
The Le Minz Scooterthon is renowned for being one of the world’s most gruelling 50cc scooter challenges. This year the event returns bigger and better than ever, following the 2011 record-breaking success for the longest distance travelled on a 50cc scooter over 24 hours by Mark Brown - rewriting an official Guinness World Record.
The event will see 50cc scooters put to the ultimate test of reliability and fuel efficiency in a 24 hour race around a track.
Spokesperson for motorbike insurance provider InsureMyRide, Luke Smith, was proud to announce sponsorship of the event for the second year in a row.
“InsureMyRide is proud to be the major sponsor of such a great event that supports both the motorcycling community and a local charity. We are also pleased to announce that this year’s selected charity will be Give Me 5 for Kids. Le Minz is set to be a bigger and better event than ever before,” commented Smith.
“Last year we had 14 teams and 43 participants complete a total of over 20,000 laps of the 665m closed track at the Gold Coast Parklands. The scooterthon really is a one-of-a-kind event for industry members, racers and every day scooter riders wanting to be a part of one of Australia’s most enjoyable motorcycling rallies.”
For the second year in a row the 24 hour scooterthon will raise funds for the Give Me 5 for Kids charity which supports the children’s wing at the Gold Coast Hospital.
