Helsinki, Finland (PRWEB) October 22, 2012
UPM has started a Commercial Acceleration program with SpecialChem to support the growth of UPM ForMi. UPM has developed UPM ForMi, a set of PP biocomposites reinforced with renewable-based cellulose fibers, suitable for weight reduction and lower carbon footprint in applications currently using PP, ABS or filled polyolefins.
SpecialChem will develop new opportunities for UPM ForMi in markets valuing the innovative environmental-friendly materials. Bringing speed and market reach, SpecialChem acts as an extended arm for UPM New Businesses & Development:
“Our collaboration with SpecialChem helps us to define the benefits brought by UPM ForMi that different market segment is valuing” said Stefan Fors, Director, UPM Biocomposites. “With the appropriate positioning, we will generate and identify new projects at OEMs, Tiers and converters via targeted education via SpecialChem platforms”
The first case study has been released to illustrate the impact on weight reduction when replacing PP talc by UPM ForMi:
