Schenectady, NY (PRWEB) October 18, 2012
Following the grand finale of the Ultimate Game Changer contest, lacrosse legend Gary Gait will be partnering with MVP Health Care on a kid’s sports clinic in the Capital Region.
"Gary Gait is a model Game Changer, setting a great example for kids,” said Denise Gonick, MVP’s President of Operations. “We are thrilled to have him involved in this meaningful initiative that supports wellness in children.”
As part of MVP's Generation Go program, which is dedicated to reducing childhood obesity (and related conditions) by positively instilling healthy habits in children, Gait will provide tips and tricks of the sport to young lacrosse enthusiasts. Register online (http://mvpgaitclinic.eventbrite.com/) for this event to be held Sunday, November 11 at Siena College in Loudonville, NY. In addition to these events, Generation Go provides online resources, information and inspiration to kids, parents and coaches.
And don’t forget, online voting is still open (through October 22) for the Ultimate Game Changer contest, which invites kids age 13 or older and adults in New York and Vermont to nominate someone they feel is making a significant contribution to our local communities.
Vote for the nominations you like best. The nominations that get the most votes will determine the top 10 finalists, who will be invited to a special Game Changer Awards Dinner on Saturday, November 10, featuring Gary Gait and gold-medal winning soccer Olympian Abby Wambach. At the dinner, the Ultimate Game Changer will be announced.
A “game changer” can be anyone (as long as they are age 13 or older)—kids, parents, coaches, teachers, grandparents—anyone you’d like to recognize who is making our communities healthier, better places to live. The grand prize winner and the person who made the winning nomination will each receive $1,000. The grand prize winner will be selected from the top 10 finalists by a panel of distinguished judges.
No purchase necessary. The MVP Ultimate Game Changer Contest is open to legal residents of New York and Vermont, age 13 or older at time of entry. Enter online at http://www.mvpgamechanger.com. A nominator may enter more than one nominee so long as each entry is separate and meets all entry requirements. Subject to complete official rules available at http://www.mvpgamechanger.com. Void where prohibited. Contest ends 10/22/12.
