WestBow Press, the strategic self-publishing division of the world’s largest Christian publisher, Thomas Nelson, Inc., today announced they are accepting submissions for the third annual Women of Faith™ writing contest. Previous contest winners Amy Sorrells and Marcia Moston both received self-publishing packages from WestBow Press. Both authors went on to become traditionally published.

Last year’s WestBow Press Women of Faith book writing contest garnered 610 entries from aspiring authors from all over the world. The Grand Prize was awarded to Amy Sorrells for her captivating novel, “Comfort and Salvation,” which was later acquired for publication by David C. Cook. The book is expected to be released with the working title, “Canary Song,” during the summer of 2014. Sorrells’ recent interview with WestBow Press can be viewed here: http://www.westbowpress.com/womenoffaith/

The winner of this year’s contest will receive a Bookstore Advantage publishing package from WestBow Press and also be reviewed by Thomas Nelson for a publishing contract. The Women of Faith writing contest is open to unpublished Christian-themed manuscripts of 10,000 words or more by authors who are at least 18 years of age. Most genres are eligible, excluding gift, children’s and picture books. All submissions must be received by Jan. 31, 2012.

“The Women of Faith writing contest provides a wonderful opportunity for writers with Christian-themed manuscripts to take the first steps toward becoming published authors,” said Keith Ogorek, senior vice-president of global marketing of Author Solutions, Inc., the parent company of WestBow Press. “We’re excited to partner once again with Women of Faith and are looking forward to reading this year’s entries.”
