The motorcycle run held on October 7th beginning at Destination Daytona raised over $325,000 for Camp Boggy Creek in Eustis. This camp is designed to enrich the lives of seriously ill children, and though donations, offers it's programs free of charge.

Sunday’s (10/7) motorcycle run to benefit Camp Boggy Creek in Eustis raised more than $325,000 for children with life-threatening illnesses.

The event – The Bruce Rossmeyer Ride for Children – began at Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach and ended at Camp Boggy Creek in Eustis. This motorcycle ride attracted more than 800 motorcycle enthusiasts, according to Rue & Ziffra attorney David Sweat√, whose Port Orange-based firm helped sponsor the event.

“We had a fantastic turnout for a truly great cause,” Sweat said, explaining that Camp Boggy Creek provides children who have life-threatening illnesses with a camping experience that allows them to be themselves. “And, it doesn’t cost their families a penny.”

The free, year-round medical camp is designed to enrich the lives of seriously ill children between the ages of 7 and 16 by providing an exciting experience that also is safe and medically sound, he said.

Fundraiser organizers also were happy with the attendance.

“It was an awesome weekend,” said Mandy Rossmeyer√, whose late father Bruce Rossmeyer is the namesake of the annual charity ride. “It was amazing,” she told the law firm staff. “Thank you so much for your involvement and support.”
