Following a recent study showing a fundamental shift in the behavior of small businesses in regards to networking.

On October 19, 2012, social media agency, fishbat, Inc., released a statement following a recent study showing a fundamental shift in the behavior of small businesses and the way that they network. The study reports that a large majority of small businesses now dedicate time to networking online and have found the results to be both effective and profitable.

According to a recent survey from Manta, “An overwhelming majority (90 percent) dedicates time to networking online and 74 percent find networking online just as, if not more, valuable than networking in person, according to a new survey by Manta, the largest online community dedicated entirely to small business.” Additionally, the survey states that a majority of the survey participants find networking online to be equally, if not more valuable than in-person networking. “Moreover, 78 percent say they gained at least a quarter of their new customers through online or social media channels this year,” stated Manta.
