During the first half of 2012, there were a total of 6,105 bankruptcy cases filed in Oklahoma.

This total represented 3.31 bankruptcy filings per 1,000 residents in the state. In addition to the bankruptcy filing rate, Oklahoma ranked 29th out of the 50 states and the District of Columbia in terms of the frequency of bankruptcy filings based on the percentage of cases filed with respect to its population. The rate also represented a drop by a factor of 0.14 as compared to the first half of 2011.
