These are fine examples of Impressionist art, and in excellent condition.  This was a very lucky find because we don't see any others currently on the market -- but they are surprisingly affordable.

Gallery owner Roger Walton of AffordableArt101 Fine Prints, the online art gallery selling the works, says there are thirty-five pieces in all.  "These are fine examples of Impressionist art", says Walton, "and in excellent condition.  This was a very lucky find because we don't see any others currently on the market, but they are surprisingly affordable."

These etchings are works of art on paper, engraved after Impressionist paintings that were in the private collection of Paul Durand-Ruel, a 19th Century art dealer who handled many of the leading Impressionist painters of his era.  Etchings are a type of print, and although multiple copies of each etching were printed in 1892, they are very rare today.  These etchings are not modern reproductions or reprints, but are the actual prints issued in 1892.

AffordableArt101.com is part of a growing trend of online galleries selling exclusively on the internet, offering stiff competition to traditional "bricks-and-mortar" galleries.  According to Walton, "With lower overhead costs, we can offer the same pieces as other dealers, but at much lower prices."

The photo at right shows "La Eventail" by Pierre-Auguste Renoir.  In addition to other Renoir etchings and Manet etchings, there are landscapes by Claude Monet, including one of his famous Haystack compositions, and works by Stanislas Lepine, John-Lewis Brown, Eugene Boudin and Camille Pissarro, Jean-Louis Forain and Pierre Puvis de Chavannes. Additionally there are two works by the popular American Impressionist artist Mary Cassatt, variations on her Mother and Child theme.

These round out an already robust selection of Impressionist art at AffordableArt101.  In addition to these authentic 19th Century examples of Impressionism, the online gallery features many styles and genres of original art prints, including Cubism, Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art prints.  "It's been a great summer for new acquisitions", says Walton, "including art by Picasso, Chagall, Matisse and especially Miro lithographs.
