“Taking safety into consideration in advance is the best way to have the most enjoyable experience.”

Ghosts, ghouls, and goblins aren't the most dangerous aspects of Halloween – and the experts at Safety Gear Online, with their High Visibility Safety Apparel online store at SafetyGearOnline.com, are determined to help highlight the real dangers that exist on the night of October 31st. Although high visibility clothing generally serves to protect construction workers, on the evening where Trick-Or-Treaters take to the streets, reflective gear ensures that the only thing that parents have to be afraid of is the inevitable surge in energy caused by all the candy.
Halloween is a time of year that is somewhat magical. There are costumes, pumpkins, haunted houses, parties, candy, along with many other tricks and treats. It is very easy for children to get caught up in all the fun of dressing up in a costume and going out in search of goodies, to remember all of the proper precautions that make Trick-Or-Treating both safe and fun. Safety Gear Online's goal this year is to send a reminder to both children and parents as they prepare for the spookiest night of the year.
“Taking safety into consideration in advance is the best way to have the most enjoyable experience,” says Doug Hendershott, Owner, Safety Gear Online. “If you take away all of the dangerous aspects, then you can Trick-Or-Treat all night long without any worries.”
Hendershott offers some techniques that parents can utilize to help their children with as they get ready for the big night:
-When moving from house to house, wear a reflective safety vest. This helps keep small children and people in darker costumes easily seen by passing motorists. If children are afraid their costume won't be seen, the vest can always be taken off as each new house is reached
-Wear makeup instead of a mask. This will help children have a better range of vision and can easily see the roadways and approaching traffic.
-Never let children Trick-Or-Treat without at least one adult supervising.
-If another parent has agreed to be the chaperone, make sure each child in the group has a telephone number with them that can be called in case they get lost or in an emergency.
-Always inspect candy before allowing it to be consumed. Although the days of sharp objects in fruit are gone for the most part, it is best to make sure that any treats are not expired or already open.
“With all of these safety tips in mind, we hope everyone has a fun, yet safe, Halloween.”
