Reston, VA (PRWEB) October 22, 2012
Washington SmartCEO recognized ThunderCat Technology as a GOVstar winner in the Industry Star Small Business category. Winners were announced at this year’s 2012 GOVstar Awards which took place on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City. Forty-five elite government contractors were recognized for their many commendable attributes and for striving for excellence in this complex and competitive sector. Of these forty-five finalists, fifteen winners were announced live at the event. This year’s finalists collectively generated $7 billion in annual revenue and employed over 14,000 individuals.
The Industry Star Award category recognizes a government contractor that is an exemplary leader among his or her peers in the industry. This leader is actively giving back to his or her country through their mentorship and is on the forefront of taking their aspect of government contracting in new directions.
ThunderCat CEO, Tom Deierlein, commented on the award, “At ThunderCat we are truly and sincerely grateful for our successes. We recognize that others need help along the path just as we did and still do. It comes natural to our team to work with our community, mentor other entrepreneurs, veterans, and of course as an SDVOSB, help wounded warriors. We could always do more, but it is humbling to be recognized for our efforts. We are honored, and thank our nominator Paul Pagnato of Pagnato-Karp Group, SmartCEO, and the distinguished panel of judges."
The GOVstar program, now in its third year of celebration in Washington, kicked off with a nomination process ending this past May. The finalists, who were chosen by an independent panel of judges, were featured in the October issue of SmartCEO magazine and also celebrated at the 2012 GOVstar Awards ceremony, attended by over 500 executives, friends and family.
“Each year we recognize government contracting firms and their leaders for their dedication to the industry and passion for their work. And each year I am even more impressed by these Greater Washington companies,” says Jaime Nespor, Group Publisher of SmartCEO magazine. “They are inspirational, patriotic and we are proud to recognize them for their achievements.”
