Award-winning credit union singled out by employees for third year in a row

Generations strives for an environment of employee empowerment and engagement, supported by an innovative and collaborative culture.

For the third year in a row, Generations Federal Credit Union has been named as a Top Workplace by a San Antonio Express-News/ Workplace Dynamics survey. The winners were chosen based on the results of confidential online surveys completed by the companies’ employees on a variety of attributes such as confidence in management, trust in co-workers, feeling valued and overall job satisfaction.

The award, currently in its fourth year, honors companies in the greater San Antonio area. Companies were divided into three categories (large, medium and small) based on the number of employees. Of the more than 696 local companies that were nominated, Generations ranked 8 among medium-size companies (150 to 499 employees).

“Generations strives for an environment of employee empowerment and engagement, supported by an innovative and collaborative culture. This award affirms that our staff not only believes in our efforts, but strongly supports them as well,” said Tim F. Haegelin, president and CEO of Generations. “It means a great deal to me both professionally and personally that our staff has once again singled us out as a top workplace.”

Generations Federal Credit Union was founded in 1940 and has a rich history of serving everyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers or attends school in Bexar County with its “people helping people” approach. The credit union has been recognized locally, regionally and nationally for innovative, award-winning services that reach out to everyone in the community as they work toward their financial goals.

The full list of companies recognized as a top place to work appeared in the October 21, 2012 issue of the San Antonio Express-News.
