Although it is too early to say how popular the vehicle will become, it certainly has every chance of being a major hit among new Cadillac drivers and veterans of the brand.

Over the years, the Cadillac brand has evolved significantly to incorporate a wide range of definitions and labels. They have fought to increase the diversity of their portfolio and have launched many successful luxury vehicles. One area where they have previously struggled is with the compact car, where the BMW 3-Series has historically dominated. Cadillac is seeking to change all of that, however, with the launch of their 2013 ATS.
This is a vehicle that is entirely new to the luxury vehicle market, redone from the ground up, utilizing parts and accessories from no other General Motors brand (except the engine, which is also used in the Buick LaCrosse and the Chevrolet Malibu). Re-engineering a vehicle from scratch has proved a winning strategy in the past for Cadillac, and it yields impressive results in this case as well.
One of the first features of the ATS that bodes well for its competitiveness in this competitive market is its very low weight: about 3300 pounds. In Cadillac’s previous attempts to compete with BMW’s 3-Series they didn’t manage to reduce the weight of their vehicle nearly as much. In fact, Cadillac is notorious for its heavy vehicles in all classes, and having one of the lightest vehicles around is relatively new territory for this division of General Motors.
Add to this the weight distribution of the vehicle (50/50) and a totally new suspension, not seen before in Cadillac’s brand, and the odds are beginning to improve that Cadillac makes a significant dent in this market. This is a vehicle where a lot of detailed attention has been paid to modern safety features, steering and handling fluidity and overall design, but it is also supremely well-equipped with add-ons and extras for those who are really seeking luxury. Anyone looking for a Cadillac in Calgary AB may want to place this on their shopping list, so they at least check it out before moving on to other models.
GSL Chev City deals primarily in Cadillacs and Chevs, and the Cadillac Calgary department is excited to begin retailing this all-new model to clients who have been waiting for a vehicle like this for many years. Although it is too early to say how popular the vehicle will become, it certainly has every chance of being a major hit among new Cadillac drivers and veterans of the brand.
Those living in the Calgary area, interested in the 2013 ATS and looking for a test drive should be able to get what they’re looking for very soon, as GSLChevCity.com is set to begin offering the ATS very soon.
