Ideal Innovations, Inc., a leader in biometric and forensic services, was awarded Washington SmartCEO’s GOVstar award last night at a ceremony in Crystal City. The GOVstar awards program honors local government contracting firms in the Washington DC area for their technology innovation, workplace environment, growth, veteran support and contributions to the industry and marketplace. Ideal Innovations was one of three finalists in the large company Star Warfighter category and was announced as the winner live at the event.
“We were honored to hear back in July that SmartCEO had named Ideal Innovations a finalist and it was a privilege to accept the award last night on behalf of the dynamic group of workers who made it possible,” said Bob Kocher, President & CEO of Ideal Innovations, Inc. “I particularly want to acknowledge our 81 employees in Afghanistan who work tirelessly in support of the warfighter and our nation’s safety.”
Over 500 business executives attended the event, where forty-five elite government contractors were recognized for their many commendable attributes and for striving for excellence in the industry. Of these forty-five finalists, fifteen winners were announced live at the event in the categories of Star Performer, Star Warfighter, Star Workplace, Technical Trailblazer and Industry Star. SmartCEO donated a portion of the event proceeds to The Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides assistance to our Wounded EOD Warriors and their families in the form of financial relief.
“Each year we recognize government contracting firms and their leaders for their dedication to the industry and passion for their work. And each year I am even more impressed by these Greater Washington companies,” said Jaime Nespor, Group Publisher of SmartCEO magazine. “They are inspirational, patriotic and we are proud to recognize them for their achievements.”
The finalists were also featured in the October issue of SmartCEO magazine.
