EJL Wireless Research is announcing the second edition of its global transmission line RF connector market titled "Global BTS Transmission Line RF Connector Analysis and Forecast, 2012-2016." The transmission line RF connector is the solution that interfaces the BTS to the feeder cables, then to the jumper cables, and finally the antenna. The performance of the RF connector is critical in maintaining RF signal integrity from the BTS to the antenna.

“As transmission line RF connector shipments correlate with both feeder cable and jumper cable shipments, the transmission line RF connector market dropped 10% year over year in total volumes (measured in units) in 2011. In terms of RF connector type, the 1/2" or smaller 7/16 DIN product segment remained the largest in 2011” said founder and President, Earl Lum.

Weak end market demand in Asia Pacific (China), Latin America and Africa offset strong demand in North America and India during 2011.

“In revenue terms, the overall market declined by 12% in 2011. We estimate that CommScope remained the world's largest supplier of transmission line RF connectors in 2011 with over 30% market share in revenues. We note that SPINNER GmbH lost the most market share in 2011 and dropped one position in our rankings,” says Lum.
