When Adam Dukes finished school to pursue a career in engineering and construction in Las Vegas, he never once thought he'd end up talking to local businesses about reputation management or by releasing a product on how to establish online authority quickly by publishing a book. The funny thing is, in one giant swoop, Dukes has done both.

These days when you're selling specialized services to small or large companies, one of the most important aspects in winning the work is showing that you have the pedigree to deliver. Having a published book that you can point to on Amazon.com or even better, by pulling a book out of your briefcase during a meeting is a great way to show clients that you're a serious player. There is still something in our psyche that places a high value on the printed physical book.
"I actually just got the physical books, the first couple of weeks it was just on Amazon, but I can just feel a different tone when talking with people, that I'm a published author. I mean if you’re talking to two or three companies and you have a book, chances are they’re going to go with you. You can charge a lot more money too. I've been doubling my pricing pretty much across the board," added Dukes.
Not satisfied with having released his first book in the last month, Adam Dukes has also created an online study course to teach people how to do what he's done called, Offline Overnight Authority. The course walks people through the process of putting together their book, helps them with concepts like ghostwriting and outsourcing and finally, Dukes tells them how to use their newly minted book as a marketing tool.
WSO Backstage host Sean Kaye recently interviewed Dukes to discuss his new product and during their conversation, a number of concepts and ideas came up that will help anyone planning to use a book as a marketing tool.
"It's a great topic! Becoming a published author is a great way for the little guy to level the playing field with their bigger competitors and the number of gold nuggets that were dropped in this interview amazed me. If you're even thinking about writing a book to build credibility in your market, you have to listen to this interview," said Kaye.
