Google has increased its strong hold on the mobile search market this week by releasing a new Mobile navigation bar. Samuel Junghenn founder of Digital Marketing Agency Think Big Online says this further solidifies Google’s position as a mobile first company.
“For over 12 months Google has been calling itself a Mobile First company embracing the trend to mobile browsing over PC based browsing. The integration of this new menu now makes it easier for smart phone users to navigate across all Google products.” Said Mr Junghenn.
When loading Google on a smart phone now you will see a menu navigation which when clicked will show up all related Google Services that you are subscribed to. This makes navigation across the services easier and should increase the use of other Google Services from Smart Phones.
The navigation bar has an independent scroll from the rest of the page. This allows you to preview the right side of the Google page and scroll up and down the navigation bar to see more Google services. Clicking on the navigation icon will slide the navigation bar back to the left of the screen, removing it from view.
“This doesn’t really come as a major surprise as Google was testing something similar to this back in February. What it does do though is show to business owners how one of the most successful internet companies think. They think that mobile is the future and are investing significantly in increasing user experiences. Business owners should start considering doing the same thing.” Said Mr Junghenn.
