Businesses that are engaging SEO professionals that don’t understand these updates could start to see a decline in traffic and search engine rankings.

Google announced last week that they were releasing another update to their search algorithm called Top Heavy 2 which is the 4th update in the space of a month. Samuel Junghenn founder of Digital Marketing Agency Think Big Online says that these updates could be dramatically affecting businesses.
“Businesses that are engaging SEO professionals that don’t understand these updates could start to see a decline in traffic and search engine rankings. These updates are designed to eliminate lower end spam sites, which unfortunately many business owners sites are classified as due to poor SEO.” Said Mr Junghenn.
Google’s head of spam Matt Cutts via his twitter account announced the Top Heavy 2 update. The Top Heavy 2 update focuses on removing sites from the search engine, which have too much advertising or imagery above the fold. Users of Google had complained that they needed to scroll too far to see actually content as such this updates fixes this issue.
“I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but I’ll say it again. The only way to achieve and keep rankings long term is to ensure you have a quality site with a great user experience. Google’s latest changes have all been about giving these kinds of sites higher rankings.” Said Mr Junghenn.
