Topics to be covered include:

• Designing for the senses: With voice and gesture interfaces moving out of science fiction and into gaming devices and mobile phones, UX is no longer just about visual design. It must address all the senses, and that is a challenging new frontier.
• The balance of art and data: The web is over-designed for data, by data. Every click can be tracked to optimize site content, but some of the beauty is lost in the process. In a more balanced approach, the designer's imagination guides the process, but the ideas are backed up by data and continually tested and optimized.
• The role of beauty: Wearables are a new frontier in beautiful design, but they have to be objects of desire. When functional value is layered on a beautiful object, it becomes not just practical, but magical.

Attendees will receive an exclusive, limited-run book compiled by GigaOM editors that features interviews and essays with leading thinkers on connected design and user experience.
