As document management advances continue to push companies toward more paperless, efficient offices, the environmental impact of the industry continues to evolve, as well. In keeping with this model of both environmental and financial conscience, New England Document Systems recently completed a full conversion of their Hooksett storage facility to energy efficient lighting. The project was completed in approximately six weeks, and is designed to reduce annual energy utilization by an estimated 50%.
"Given our sizeable real estate footprint and manner which our employees move about the building, this change provided the best solution to our needs," stated company President Nick Brattan. "Factoring the rebate incentive along with the energy savings, our estimated payback period is only four years," he added.
The new lighting features low energy fixtures which use 50-60% less energy, coupled with motion sensors that activate lighting only when needed, drastically reducing energy usage. "This is a win-win for our company and our community while supporting our commitment to environmental sustainability," added Brattan.
