The one-hour webinar, entitled "Can You TRUST Your Goals? 5 Ways to Increase Engagement and Bottom-line Results through Structured Goal Setting," will be offered live on November 8th, 2012 at 2PM Eastern, after which it will be made available for download.

The methodology combines the well-accepted practice of building SMART goals (goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound), with an additional layer that Charney Coaching & Consulting refers to as the “TRUST Lens.” The approach provides the five building blocks for ensuring that goals will be authentically designed and implemented.

Importantly, the methodology also assures that individual and team goals will be “in service of” the larger company goals. “In service of” is a simple idea. It’s about making sure that what you’re delivering is valuable to what the next level in the organization is delivering as well. If, for example, someone is working on a social media plan, then it means that social media is part of a larger marketing strategy, and that it has specific goals and objectives. The work—and the goals of the person or team doing the work—are then said to be in service of the higher level strategy and goals.

“It’s a very powerful concept, in part because it’s so simple,” said Ms. Charney. “By the time our clients complete our sessions, people are often asking each other if the goals they’ve developed are ‘in service of’ some other goal. It quickly becomes part of the language.”
