"People will really enjoy the simplicity of the touch screen on Polycom VVX multimedia VoIP phones because they work just like a tablet or smartphone," said Garrett Smith, CMO at VoIP Supply.

When Polycom releases a new phone, our ears perk up and we're espeically excited to share the news of the latest addition to their multimedia VVX line, the Polycom VVX 600.

The VVX 600 resembles its predecessor, the Polycom VVX 500, but expands and improves upon it.

Color touch screen? Check. HD voice? Yes. Superb Polycom quality and Unified Communication (UC) integration? Double check.

The new VVX 600 enhancements include:

  • Bigger Touch Screen: The VVX 600 has a 4.3 inch color LCD screen, up from a 3.5 inch display on the previous model.
  • Faster Access: The VVX 600 supports up to 16 line appearances for speed dialing, corporate directory access, instant messaging, and presence status.
  • Built-In Bluetooth: Finally, VVX 600 users can make calls with a Bluetooth headset. This was sorely lacking on the VVX 500.
  • HD Camera for Video Calls: Now available, the Polycom VVX Camera is an optional 720p HD video camera that allows users to make video calls on both the VVX 600 and VVX 500.

The HD Voice quality on VVX phones is excellent but, not having access to a wireless headset via Bluetooth was an issue that users will happy to have resolved.

Additionally, the Polycom VVX Camera operates by way of a simple USB plug-in on the back of the phone. The previous generation VVX 500 also has this port available so, the camera works on both phones. This is a great way for workers to use desktop video conferencing reliably over a company's VoIP infrastructure.

"People will really enjoy the simplicity of the touch screen on Polycom VVX multimedia VoIP phones because they work just like a tablet or smartphone," said Garrett Smith, Chief Marketing Officer at VoIP Supply. "Adapting to a Polycom VVX 600 in a workplace environment is a very familiar experience with its tap and swipe functionality."
