Menlo Park, CA (PRWEB) October 24, 2012
The Grid, Blackdigital, and Arktan today announced a partnership to extend and refine their innovative event-coverage platform building on the success of the recently completed TheGridDoesTIFF.com, a site for fans of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
TheGridDoesTIFF.com was launched as the destination site for film fans to interact with editorial and curated social content around TIFF during the ten days of the festival but also in the weeks leading up to the event. The site’s content is divided into distinct sections covering everything from films, to celebrities, to hot spots. Grolsch, a Dutch beer company and inaugural sponsor of TIFF, offered a social stream called “Choose Interesting, By Grolsch” as a designated section on the site.
“The program was a unique, creative way to serve both fans of the festival and Grolsch,” said Laas Turnbull, publisher and editor-in-chief of The Grid. “By pulling only relevant content into the streams, we were able to create an editorial environment that was deeply immersive.”
The TheGridDoesTIFF.com contains original content from roughly 90 bloggers, as well as Social Web streams extended to the site by Arktan SocialStreams. SocialStreams curates the real-time streams ensuring that only relevant, high quality content is delivered for fans to engage with.
Rahul Aggarwal, CEO and Co-Founder of Arktan, said that "TheGridDoesTIFF.com is novel in how it brings together the creative and editorial prowess of Blackdigital with the power and flexibility of Arktan SocialStreams. The result is a real-time site with high quality blog and Social Web content that captures the dynamic nature of TIFF, and realizes the vision of The Grid and Grolsch."
