The Marc Pro™ device is capable of generating new blood vessels and boosting blood flow 247 percent, speeding up the recovery of fatigued muscles, according to a recent study published in the Journal of Exercise Physiology.
In the study, researchers evaluated the device’s effects on blood flow and angiogenesis in the hind limbs of test subjects. Simply stated, angiogenesis is the growth of new blood vessels. And more blood vessels means quicker recovery and better performance for athletes.
The results showed initial use of the Marc Pro™ electrical stimulation device boosted blood flow to affected limbs by 200 percent. When the device was used for three weeks on test subjects, blood flow increased 25 percent, suggesting the body had more capacity to deliver nourishment as angiogenesis occurred in the treated region.
The Journal of Exercise Physiology article is the latest in a spectrum of positive studies that tout the Marc Pro’s™ ability to speed recovery.
In a similar study published last year, individuals who used Marc Pro™ after exhaustive leg extension exercises showed a 61 percent reduction in muscle fatigue and an 18 percent hike in endurance.
