Colliers International has been instructed to let one of the most exciting dining opportunities currently on the market.

The restaurant is in fact the elegant Marienborgh boat, which is to be moored on the South Quay in London’s Docklands.

The Marienborgh is an historic, two-mast schooner that dates back to 1912. It is currently in Holland being fully refurbished to provide a luxurious and truly unique dining venue. The main restaurant will be on the lower deck, which will feature a crafted teak staircase and brass portholes.

The upper deck will include a well fitted bar and room for an al fresco dining area. Once the refurbishment is finished the boat will have an internal floor area of 1,634 sq ft, as well as additional dining space on the upper deck. It is proposed that a pontoon will link the ship to the dock-side, providing further space as an informal reception/bar area, or further restaurant covers.

The boat is to be positioned adjacent to Canary Wharf on the south bank of the South Quay, a well-established location for high-end London restaurants.

Alex Hill, a Senior Surveyor at Colliers International commented: “With demand for well located London dining space arguably at an all-time high, we are anticipating strong interest in this unique opportunity. Full of character and in such close proximity to Canary Wharf, it is likely to appeal to established national and international operators alike.”

Rental offers are being sought in the region of £95,000 per annum exclusive.
