Buffalo, NY (PRWEB) October 23, 2012

Energy Curtailment Specialists, Inc. (ECS), one of the nation’s largest and longest-tenured demand response providers, has been approved to enroll businesses in the Base Interruptible Program (BIP) commissioned by Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E). This adds to ECS’ extensive offerings of commercial and industrial demand response programs throughout North America. ECS customers participate in demand response programs in order to reduce the strain on the electric grid during moments of crisis, helping to avert blackouts and brownouts.

With more than 11 years of experience in the industry, ECS continues to be a leading authority on demand response and is the largest privately held full-service demand response provider in North America. By participating in BIP, ECS customers are afforded the opportunity to earn significant payments while benefitting their community and the electric grid as a whole. Participants enrolled in the BIP are given 30 minute advanced notice to reduce their electricity. ECS’ other PowerPay! Demand Response programs in the PG&E territory allow for a longer advance notice (day-ahead notice of an emergency event).

“With this approval to market the BIP program alongside the other PowerPay! Programs we have been offering for more than 5 years, ECS is now in the enviable position of having multiple options for a commercial or industrial facility – something for everyone,” said Jim Korczykowski, ECS President and CEO.

ECS intends to limit the number of participants it adds to their Base Interruptible Program and will treat interested participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested facilities should contact ECS directly at 1-877-711-5453 or visit ECS’ website at http://www.ecsgrid.com.
