On October 26 2012, travel and clothing company Surf Patch released a statement in response to a new travel website that give its passengers discounts on air fare, but takes the destination choice into their own hands.
According to the NBC News Travel article, a new website known as GetGoing.com will be launched on November 1st that adds a little spin to purchasing flights for your next vacation. The site lets you search for a flight starting with on one of two criteria, regional or interest. Based on your choice, a slew of destination choices will pop up for your examination. Once you choose two flight packages, GetGoing.com asks for your billing information and picks one of the destinations for you to fly clear with no hassles. The savings comes from that “flip-a-coin philosophy,” said in the article.
The NBC News Travel article further states, “it’s a bit like a flash-sale site (exclusive availability) but with no date constraints, and a bit like an opaque site (temporary carrier uncertainty) but with no risk of a three-stop, 14-hour ordeal as you get to select your flights before you book.”
The travel and clothing company Surf Patch is excited by the prospects of this new website. World traveler Takara Licausi states, “even though GetGoing.com takes the some of the choice out of travel destination, the savings and straightforward flight packages will allow people to fly clear and happy.”
