What does it take to write and create an internationally-recognized and award-winning resume? According to Career Directors International (CDI) founder, Laura DeCarlo, “To be the best and be recognized as the best with an annual TORI Resume Writing Award, you have to embrace resume writing as a form of marketing. Resumes are no longer just job responsibility lists – they are about identifying the unique puzzle of skills, accomplishments, and talents that make up a job seeker, and then translating them into a powerful document that is easy to read, tells a story, grabs attention, and visually engages the reviewer.”
Currently in its 11th year, the Toast of the Resume Industry (TORI) award competition has become a true benchmark for allowing professional resume writers, job seekers, and career coaches from around the world to view the upper echelon standard in resume writing. According to DeCarlo, the TORIs represent a unique venue for resume writers to challenge set standards and continue to evolve their resumes into ever more user-friendly documents for employers; a win-win for job seekers who need to stand out in a crowded and competitive marketplace.
This year, over 200 applicants entered the TORI competition across nine categories vying for nominations and first, second, and third place awards in each category. The judging panel, all certified resume writers and many former TORI winners, led by CDI’s Award Director Robin Schlinger, have selected the winners from the previously announced nominees. They recognize the following individuals by category:
Best International Resume:
Best New Graduate Resume:
Best Creative Resume:
Best Re-entry Resume:
Best Technical Resume:
Best Executive Resume:
