The Garmin fenix GPS watch and heart rate monitor just became available in quantities over the past few weeks, but the original units required the purchase of a chest strap separately according to the Heart Rate Watch Company.
Today, Garmin announced the Garmin fenix performance bundle which includes the regular black wrist strap, along with the orange wrist band, plus it has the Garmin premium soft strap heart rate monitor transmitter.
"The new Garmin fenix premium bundle is priced at $449.99, or $50.00 more than the plain Garmin fenix, but it adds accessories valued at an additional $89.98, so it saves almost $30", says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "The Garmin fenix is the hottest outdoor wrist top navigation system Garmin has ever made".
The fenix has a lot of crossover features for outdoor sporting like a hunting and fishing calendar, but it has navigation features that are plenty for the most serious mountaineers, and also provides heart rate, speed and distance for outdoor fitness enthusiasts.
"For alpine skiing, back country skiing, mountain climbing, navigating deep woods, and basic running or cycling this watch is amazing and it is the most rugged watch Garmin has ever made", says Squire. He adds, "That its size is best suited to men and women with larger wrists, but women with smaller wrists will not find this watch, or the Suunto Ambit, very appealing".
The new Garmin fenix performer bundle is available at the Heart Rate Watch Company now.
