iUniverse Open Book Editions, in a partnership between the leading indie-book publisher and Berrett-Koehler, today announced that Terry Hawkins’ inspirational self-published title, “Why Wait to Be Great? It’s Either Now or Too Late!,” has been acquired for publication by Berrett-Koehler Publishers in San Francisco.

Terry Hawkins founded professional training company, People in Progress Global, in 1989. Educating businesses and individuals has been her passion for nearly 25 years, and along the way she has helped more than 300,000 professionals find their drive and realize their goals. Before Hawkins’s relocation to the USA, she was the most sought-after, award-winning female speaker in Australia. “Why Wait to Be Great?” is one of many books Hawkins has written or co-written, including her very popular “Stickman Rules” children’s series, “Secrets of Inspiring Women Exposed,” and “The Power of More than One.”

“As a speaker, Terry Hawkins is absolutely spectacular. She mesmerizes and inspires crowds on the business lecture circuit, and has brilliantly taken that energy, passion and wisdom and put it into a wonderful book,” said Steve Piersanti, president and publisher, Berrett-Koehler. “‘Why Wait to Be Great’ fits perfectly within Berrett-Koehler’s mission, and we are thrilled to have her.”

“It’s been my life’s work to help people achieve their goals and experience success both personally and professionally,” said Hawkins. “With the help of Berrett-Koehler and iUniverse, the methods and teachings I’ve used in my own life to overcome great adversity throughout my career, are now available to everyone in ‘Why Wait to Be Great,’ and I hope it encourages others to deal with their pain and follow their dreams just as I have with my own.”

Open Book Editions welcomes authors who share in the Berrett-Koehler mission—“Creating a World That Works for All.” BK believes, to truly create a better world, action is needed at all levels—individual, organizational and societal. BK and iUniverse are both proud and pleased that all OBE books promote positive change.
