Axia Public Relations named Michelle Heatherly as its new director of client engagement. Heatherly comes to Axia after spending six years as the director of marketing and corporate sales for Bailey’s Powerhouse Gym.

“Michelle has a history of fresh ideas and of attracting and engaging clients,” said Axia President Jason Mudd, APR. “We are excited to have her aboard, actively developing new national public relations clients. Axia is one of the fastest growing public relations firms in the country, and Michelle has already impacted our new business development efforts.”

Before Bailey’s, Heatherly was regional marketing manager for Applejam Inc., which operates Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, Marble Slab Creamery and Qdoba Mexican Grill restaurants in several U.S. markets. Prior to that, she worked in marketing for Quality Restaurant Concepts, a multi-location Applebee’s franchisee in northern Alabama.

Heatherly also interned at the Shoals Chamber of Commerce in Florence, Ala. while attending the University of North Alabama, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communications and Public Relations in 2004.
