The legal affairs news and information company Lawdragon has released its 2012 magazine showcasing the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America – the most elite distinction in the profession – with 140 pages of photos and interviews with prominent lawyers from around the nation. The magazine is available in digital format (http://www.lawdragon.com/lawdragon_magazine) and for print order (http://www.lawdragon.com/order-magazine).

As in past years, the magazine presents the Lawdragon 500 in stunning photography and with insightful interviews, as well as in-depth feature articles on timely topics. “Last Stop Belgrade” examines the prosecution of war crimes in the domestic courts of Serbia and at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY). The article explores “transitional justice” efforts to address massive human rights violations and is the result of extensive research conducted in The Hague, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia.

“The New IP Lawyer” explains how intellectual property lawyers are developing new practices based on creatively monetizing intellectual property assets for their clients, and for themselves. The article focuses on the work of Lawdragon 500 member David Berten, co-founder of Global IP Law Group, which handled Nortel’s historic $4.5B patent auction. Finally, Lawdragon Founder Katrina Dewey conducts an extensive Q&A with David Boies, one of the nation’s most acclaimed litigators, as he prepares to celebrate his law firm’s 15th anniversary.

Lawdragon is a fast-growing new media company that offers a unique platform for lawyers to reach consumers. In addition to attorney guides such as the Lawdragon 500, the website provides free legal news and features as well as a searchable database of legal professionals that includes online profiles of attorneys and firms. Attorneys can add their professional listing for free and upgrade to a premium profile to better showcase their practices. Visitors can view these listings for free when searching for lawyers, and they can also choose to fill out evaluations of listed professionals.
