Preferred Warranties Inc., a leader in extended service contracts for pre-owned vehicles, has announced the winners of its annual Values Awards. Six winning dealerships were selected by the PWI Values Team, a committee of PWI employees formed in 2009 to identify and promote the core values on which the company was built and continues to grow.
The competition was open to the 2000+ dealerships that offer Preferred Warranties protection plans with their pre-owned cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles and ATVs. Along with a framed Award Certificate, each winning dealership was honored with a cash donation made in their name to the local charity of their choice.
The winner of the competition’s top “Five Values” Award was Southpoint Automotive, San Antonio, TX.
“Between their involvement with local churches and schools, their commitment to the local community, reputation for excellent service, dedication to doing the right thing and relentless pursuit of excellence, Edgar Modesto and his team at Southpoint share the same values that Preferred Warranties stands for,” said Texas sales consultant Josh Schneer, who nominated the dealership for the award.
A $500 donation in Southpoint’s name was made by Preferred Warranties to the Children’s Hospital of Santa Rosa.
M&M Auto Sales, Lumberton, NC, was named winner of the “Community” Values Award. A $250 donation was made in their name to the Boy Scouts of America, Cub Scout Pack 307.
“They believe in family, God, friendship and doing business honestly and with integrity,” said Chris Garvey, the North Carolina sales consultant who nominated M&M owners Chris Moore and Jerry Padrick for the award. “They believe in themselves and what they sell. Although both are very busy donating time and resources to both the Boys Scouts and their churches, they manage to run a very successful business.”
The “Pursuit of Excellence” Values Award was won by Number One Auto Sales, Buckhannon, WV, who directed their $250 donation to the Upshur County Humane Society.
“To know Sid Phillips and his son Shea is to define the independent dealer who strives daily to get it right,” said West Virginia sales consultant William Jurick, who nominated the dealership for the award. “Whether it is in their shop, a sales situation on the lot, getting the correct financing or being a partner with PWI, they strive to be the best and do it correctly. The right way is the only way for Sid, Shea and Number One Auto Sales.”
Victorian City Car Port, Manistee, MI, was named winner of the “Integrity” Values Award, and directed their $250 donation to the West Shore Health Care Foundation’s “Paint the Town Pink” drive.
“Time and again, owner Greg Kinnan has demonstrated that he is honest and ethical with his customers, and a great partner for Preferred Warranties,” said PWI’s nominating sales consultant Raymond Hes. “For example, Greg discovered that a certain diesel truck was prone to problems. He called a customer who had purchased one earlier and bought the vehicle back from him before any problems occurred.”
Jeff England Motor Company of Cleburne, TX, won the “Service” Values Award, and directed their $250 donation to The Children’s Advocacy Group.
“It would be difficult to find another dealership more committed to customer service than Jeff England Motor Company, and the owner Jeff England is the driving force behind it,” said Texas sales consultant Zachary Van Fleet. “He truly cares about his customers and his reputation, and he is led by a desire to do the right thing. His dedication and hands-on attitude have helped his operation become one of the largest independent dealerships in the area.”
The “Fun” Values Award was won by Strokers Dallas, one of Texas’ largest sellers of custom motorcycles. Owner Rick Fairless directed Stokers’ $250 donation to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
“Rick Fairless and his dealership are all about fun for their customers and employees alike,” said Texas sales consultant John Bateman. “Every month they have a Customer Appreciation Day with five-cent beer and free hot dogs. They host all sorts of activities including live bands, tattoo artists, and beach volleyball. At the same time, Rick is heavily involved in his community and holds benefits, auctions, and fundraisers throughout the year benefiting The Cancer Society, Scottish Rite and other causes.”
