The Collaborative Autism Treatment Campus (CAT-Campus), a community of service providers for individuals with autism, is celebrating the opening of their organization with an open house for professionals and other members of the autism community. Guests are welcomed to explore the facility and learn about this innovative center that will provide a continuity of care for members on the autism spectrum from early childhood through adulthood. The open house is scheduled for November 2, 2012 from 6 to 9 P.M. at the CAT-Campus located at 3209 Yorktown Ave., Durham, N.C. 27713.
The mission of the CAT-Campus is to provide an organization and structure whereby the best and brightest professionals treating individuals on the autism spectrum can come together to meet the needs of the “whole person” with autism and their family. Families of individuals with autism often find themselves traveling from provider to provider to receive the services their loved ones need and report that it can be a full time job coordinating care. It can also be challenging for professionals serving individuals with autism to coordinate services with other providers in different locations.
The CAT-Campus will provide parents and families one-stop access to many types of professionals that work with individuals on the autism spectrum, saving both time and money. The campus will feature professionals that specialize in Speech/Language Therapy, Diagnostic Evaluations, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Consultation and Therapy, Occupational Therapy, social skills groups, family & sibling therapy and support groups, playgroups, and much more. Children and adults alike will be able to take advantage of the center’s wide range of services designed to enhance all aspects of the individual’s life.
