RightStar Systems announces the release of ScanStar, a powerful barcode tracking add-on module for Remedyforce Service Desk. Remedyforce is BMC Software’s cloud-enabled service desk hosted on the number one SaaS platform from Salesforce.com. ScanStar extends its capabilities by adding an asset tracking solution developed specifically for Remedyforce by RightStar Systems.
ScanStar provides an efficient, cost-effective method to track fixed asset inventories of capital equipment, computers, furniture and other resources. The technology capitalizes on the accuracy of barcodes using sophisticated Windows Mobile-based barcode scanners. ScanStar allows users to perform field audits, update information as necessary or add new items “on-the-fly”. In addition, ScanStar keeps key asset data in synchronization with the Remedyforce CMDB.
ScanStar is RightStar’s second generation barcode offering. An off-shoot of the successful MagicWand barcode, ScanStar has been completely rebuilt to provide more storage, faster performance, much quicker sync times, and a user-customizable interface. “Our customers suggested improvements they wanted to see and we listened,” said Brett Winston, CTO and Development Team Manager at RightStar Systems. “ScanStar offers functionality not found in any other Remedyforce add-on and we’re very excited about it.”
